A tale well told...

I've read thousands of books throughout my life. They are my passion, my obsession, my most precious friends. To me books are like thousands of unexplored worlds, their inky pages waiting for me to join them in their unknown adventures. I love to stay up late enchanted by their midnight lullabies. So many have passed through my hands, tales for children, for teens and, as I kept growing, a curiosity for those of young adults. Many authors sang to me, many tried to bound me with their spells but never had one fascinated me. They were like symphonies played by various grand masters one can only help but appreciate. However there was none that captivated me. None I can call a master among masters...until now.

A few months ago, I stepped into a library absentmindedly when a small book caught my attention, hidden in the bottom corner of a huge bookshelf. It was a pocket size white book with an amazing yet simple cover. An quite ordinary book in itself. However as I flipped it around, the words on the back caught me at once. The web of tales sprang to life before my eyes. Unable to contain it, I found myself buying all three books of the trilogy. As I read them, the black words humming like a spell, I knew I had found it. A book worth reading. A book worth admiring. It was unlike any other I've read so far and therefore I can't help but feel compelled to give such author the praise he rightful deserves.

After reading all three I felt the urge to see more of his work, to know what other tales he had to tell. Making a quick visit to Barnes and Nobles I found just one other book from the same author. Like his previous novels, his words sang to me without any hesitation or effort. It was like a whole new world, something refreshingly new and original...

Now I can say, without doubt or uncertainty, that my favorite author is definitely Mr. Brent Weeks.
